Target Audience for our second idea.

Our new idea is based on the Riaz family. It is about an honour killing, which in this case it's where the father thought his wife and children had disgraced the family and kills them. This is based on the reality of life therefore should be suitable for over twelve’s as they will be able to understand some or all of the contents anybody under the age of twelve will find it difficult to understand the opening sequence. It is not your typical relationship drama as you don't normally see honour killings in this genre therefore it will be more exciting for the viewer as they may not have watched this type of relationship drama before. The target audience in our new idea differs from our original idea because there is less physical violence and more emotional confusion of the male character. His family are clueless to what he is going to do and think everything is fine whereas the male thinks his family name has been disgraced by his own family because they were becoming to "WESTERNISED". This will be appealing to viewers who like mysteries and enigmas because in the opening sequence it will get the viewers wanting to know questions.

  • Why hasn't he spoken to the family about his problems?
  • Why didn't he think about his son who was critically ill with cancer?
  • How long has he been planning to kill them for?
  • What was his intention by killing them, to hide the fact of them becoming too "WESTERNISED" or because he thought it was the right thing to do for the family name?

Overall, this opening sequence will appeal to a wide variety of tastes. It is only suitable for twelve plus because of the difficulty of understanding the emotional side to this sequence.
